Including partnership working within TfGM, with districts, and with other public and private sector organisations, our transport planning portfolio includes traffic management schemes; strategic highway schemes; Quality Bus Corridors; phased Metrolink expansion; park and ride strategies; GMLTP1-3; GM area-wide and District-specific support to LDF Core Strategies, Land Allocations, development plan and supplemental planning documents; site-specific Transport Statements or Assessments for development proposal; and highway forecasting aspects of the GM Transport Fund package of major schemes. Activities include operational assessment, economic appraisal, and support to environmental analysis; separately or in support of Major Scheme Business Cases.
We have contributed to the forecasting, appraisal and design of all major highway schemes opened in Greater Manchester in the last 20 years. We work to emerging DfT / HA / GMCA Protocols, in conjunction with GMUTC signal control strategies, towards GM and district network and congestion performance management goals. We assist forward planning of major land use proposals. We apply a value for money service ethic.
We use a range of modelling packages and databases, including packages developed by our own Transport Systems and Model Development Group and using data provided by the Transport Surveys and Analysis Group, as well as industry standard packages, data sources and approved methods and criteria.
